Investment Week is pleased to host the third in our new series of Career Booster webinars linked to our Women in Investment Awards, in association with HSBC Asset Management, focusing on helping women progress and thrive in leadership roles within the sector.
This webinar would be of interest to women in the industry who would like to step up to a leadership position, as well as women who would like to progress in a leadership role.
This discussion would also be of interest to male and female managers who would like to do more to support women in their teams and encourage female leaders.
Our panel of senior women will share the secrets of their success building a career as a leader. They will offer practical advice on what works in establishing a position as a leader and building a team, as well as tackle some of the roadblocks women may face.
They will also suggest ways that companies and the investment industry can help attract and develop female leaders.

Katrina Lloyd has been editor-in-chief of Investment Week, Professional Adviser and Cover since December 2019. Previously, she was editor of Investment Week for eight years and editor of sister titles ifaonline.co.uk and Professional Adviser magazine (now combined into www.professionaladviser.com). Katrina started her journalism career at fundstrategy magazine.
Ozge Usta is the Head of Sustainability Delivery, responsible for the delivery of sustainable investment and culture initiatives and the lead for HSBC Asset Management’s People Initiative. Previously, she was the Global Head of Client Propositions & Client Experience, responsible for proposition development and delivery, as well as product marketing globally, for all asset classes and all client groups. With over 20 years of banking experience, Ozge has held a number of positions, predominantly across Asset Management and Retail banking in both emerging and developed markets. Ozge started her career as a graduate trainee at a Turkish commercial bank in Istanbul, looking after Financial Institutions relationships. In 2002, she moved to HSBC Turkey in the wealth management propositions team. Ozge moved to HSBC Asset Management London in 2006, working in the corporate strategy team and since then held various roles on the sales and distribution side, taking a global leadership role in 2013. Ozge holds an MSc in Management from the London School of Economics.

Sarah has 35 years’ experience in investment and wealth management having previously worked for Seymour Pierce Butterfield, Brewin Dolphin and JM Finn. She has held roles ranging from Investment Manager, Head of Office, Regional Managing Director, National Director, Business Development Director and Head of Investment Management. She was the first woman to be appointed to the board of Brewin Dolphin Holdings PLC, a FTSE 250 company. Sarah is now Chief Executive of Hawksmoor.
Sarah also currently sits on the board of PIMFA, the trade body of the wealth management industry, and is Chair of its Nomination Committee. In addition, Sarah is also on the Council of the Institute of Directors (IOD) where she also sits on the Nomination Committee.
In the past she has held external roles such as Chair of Governors of St Francis School, Pewsey and Chair of the Marie Curie Spring Arts Committee.
Married with two daughters, Sarah is a strong supporter of diversity and inclusion and is a mentor to a number of young women in the wealth management industry.
In her spare time she enjoys swimming, yoga, Pilates, reading, travel, theatre and walking her Great Dane.
