Webinar Description:

Investment Week is pleased to launch a new series of webinars linked to our flagship Women in Investment Awards, in association with HSBC Asset Management, focused on helping women progress in different careers within the sector.

Our panellists will be sharing their experiences and lessons learnt from their varied careers, including how they started in the industry and progressed to where they are today.

We will be discussing how women can make a difference in each job role, challenges they may face and how to overcome them, as well as how to encourage more diverse talent into these positions.

The aim is for each session to be interactive so the audience can really benefit from the experiences of our speakers and they can receive practical advice to help them progress in their careers. These webinars would also benefit both male and female managers who would like to do more to support women in their teams and encourage diverse talent.

Women are still under-represented in a number of roles in the investment industry, especially at senior level and in certain sectors, and we hope these webinars will also provide some useful discussion points on how we can make improvements in this area.

Our first webinar on 15 July focuses on progressing as a fund manager and would be of interest to women who are in the early stages or want to build on their career as an analyst or portfolio manager, or individuals looking to break into this area.

Our panel of senior female fund managers will be sharing the secrets of their success building a career in fund management, the lessons they learnt along the way and offering some practical advice on how to tackle some of the road blocks women may face in this area.

They will also be analysing the role women can play in broader investment teams and suggesting how senior managers can help attract and develop female talent in their sectors.
